Honda MotoGP bosses are not speculating on a time frame for Marc Marquez' full recovery from a third surgery on his broken arm.
Marquez was operated upon in Madrid yesterday, undergoing a bone graft plus a replacement of the plate inserted after his Jerez crash.
There has been much speculation in European media that Marquez could be out for a further six months but HRC has no official timeline.
“We don’t want to speculate, we want his full recovery. I hope we can give more details soon,” communications chief Hector Martin told bikesportnews.com this morning.
A six-month recovery period, which was quoted by Dr Claudio Costa in Italian media, would mean Marquez potentially misses the first four rounds of the 2021 championship.
More speculation, mostly by Italians, puts Andrea Dovizioso in a replacement rider seat at Repsol Honda for 2021 but after Dovizoso parted company acrimoniously with Honda at the end of 2011 that seems unlikely. Plus Stefan Bradl already works there and knows the RC213V inside out.
