Tech3 Moto2 star Danny Kent was forced out of yesterday's round at Motegi after breaking his right collarbone in the morning free practice session.
The youngster, who moves back to Moto3 next season with his old Red Bull KTM squad, had put in a season-best qualifying performance of ninth which he hoped would result in a maiden top-ten finish, but it was not to be.
“Obviously I’m really disappointed about the injury today and the fact that we managed to qualify in on third row yesterday leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I would have loved to do a good race here and show our true potential and also to pay back my Tech3 Racing team for all the support they gave me during this season, but these things can happen to everybody," said Kent.
"My bike went into first gear and just went sideways. There was nothing I could do. It just threw me off and I landed on my shoulder. Now my right collarbone is broken and we will have to wait and see how much my physical condition can improve when we go to Valencia. I don’t want to finish my season in this way and I am determined to try and ride in the final race.”
