'I honestly think we have a dream team' - Tardozzi labels factory Ducati as the team to beat in 2025

Davide Tardozzi is full of confidence after a near perfect 2024 MotoGP World Championship for Ducati.

In the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, Ducati ended up winning 19 of the 20 Grands Prix. The Italian manufacturer put together an almost perfect year as their riders also locked out the top four positions in the championship standings.

At the end of the 2024 season the factory Ducati Team Manager, Davide Tardozzi, discussed the 2024 season for Ducati and Francesco Bagnaia's mistakes that cost him a third World Championship.

"It has been a fantastic year," Tardozzi stated. "I think it has been the most successful for Ducati, but I guess also for a factory racing in MotoGP.

"I think Pecco is thinking, and we are thinking together, about those mistakes in the Sprint Races. First of all, we want to learn if we have a technical issue between Saturday and Sunday races.

"He has gone really deep with Gigi [Dall'igna] and his engineers about this matter. I don't think that it is the right attitude for Pecco to be in a rush."

'It will be not so easy to take a step forward.'

The Ducati GP24 was nearly unbeatable in the 2024 MotoGP season as Ducati continued their incredible development. However, Tardozzi is aware that it will be difficult to take a big step forward in 2025 with the Ducati GP25.

"We have to take time over the winter with the engineers to make the right steps," Tardozzi explained. "Because in 2024 we had a really competitive bike and it will be not so easy to take a step forward.

"On the other hand, we know our competitors are really tough and will be very strong on the rider side next year. The two Aprilia guys of [Marco] Bezzecchi and Jorge [Martin] will be very tough, and [Maverick] Vinales and [Enea] Bastianini will improve at KTM.

"On one side we are really happy, but we will leave our antenna straight!"

'I honestly think we have a dream team.'

Next season the Ducati factory squad have a new rider joining their lineup. The eight-time World Champion, Marc Marquez, will partner the three-time World Champion, Francesco Bagnaia.

The Spaniard and the Italian have become rivals in recent years, but will share a garage next year. Despite the fact that both riders will fight for the title Tardozzi belives Ducati can manage their riders relationship.

"We have let some top guys go to other brands, but in the end, I honestly think we have a dream team," Tardozzi said.

"I think that Pecco [Bagnaia] and Marc [Marquez] are incredible riders, I think we will manage a good collaboration between the two riders.

"We will be the team to beat next year, I know other brands are growing on the technical side and with their rider lineup, but in the end, I think the Ducati factory team will be very tough next year."
