Across the last three Grands Prix, Joan Mir has failed to finish as the Repsol Honda rider continues to struggle with the RC213V.
Joan Mir's disastrous time with Repsol Honda continued at the Australian Grand Prix. Mir's Honda teammates Johann Zarco and Luca Marini scored points in the Grand Prix, but Mir was one of only two DNFs.
The Spaniard has scored points in six Grands Prix in 2024 and is 21st in the World Championship. However, the 2020 MotoGP World Champion has failed to finish in the last three Grands Prix.
At Phillip Island Mir believed he had made some positive steps before the 27-lap races. But the 27-year-old labelled the Australian Grand Prix 'a nightmare' when his race came to an early end.
The Repsol Honda rider struggled with vibrations throughout his Honda RC213V throughout the race. The cause of the vibration is currently unknown to Mir and his team, leaving them with more questions than answers.
"It was a nightmare," a frustrated Mir stated. "I don't understand what happened, honestly. I struggled through the race with an unexpected problem that I did not have throughout the weekend.
"It is on these days when you don't know what to say, I was optimistic, in the Warm-Up my feelings were better. Then in the race I was not able to ride, I was having a huge amount of vibration on the bike.
"We don't understand where we are having this vibration, because it seems like I am the only one. This is very difficult, so we will try to understand, it is the only thing I can say, we will try to understand and keep working and not give up."
