Jorge Martin wins the 2024 MotoGP World Championship after finishing third in the Solidarity Grand Prix.
After four years in the MotoGP World Championship, Jorge Martin has won his first premier title. Throughout the 2024 season, Martin has won three Grand Prix races and seven Sprint Races.
The Prima Pramac Racing rider battled with the factory Ducati Team until the final race of the season. In the end, Martin won by 10 points as he beat the two-time MotoGP World Champion, Francesco Bagnaia in a head-to-head battle throughout the season.
Martin won the title after finishing third in the Solidarity Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Straight after the race, Martin said: "I don't know what to say I am completely shocked. This is for my people, my family and the people that have been supporting me. In the last laps, I could barely ride I started to cry, it was a really emotional race.
"It has been a long journey, a lot of crashes, big injuries. But finally, we are here. Thanks to all the fans, this is also for Valencia.
"I hope that I can keep improving and enjoy the moment, this is the most important thing, to live in the present and enjoy the moment."
