Elf Marc VDS Racing Team rider, Jake Dixon, is ready to kick start his 2025 season after a positive weekend in Thailand.

Jake Dixon's debut with the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team will get underway on Sunday at the Thai Grand Prix.

However, before he begins his first race with the team, he has been through Practice on Friday and Qualifying on Saturday. The British rider ended Friday in seventh place, and then qualified in eighth on Saturday.

Dixon admitted after the Qualifying session that he did not expect much from his one lap pace, as he has struggled throughout testing. But he is confident for Sunday's Grand Prix as his race pace was 'pretty consistent' across 19 laps of the Chang International Circuit.

"Honestly, this morning was really good because we nearly did race distance, I did an 18 or 19 lap run," Dixon told TNT Sports.

"I was not the fastest, but I was pretty consistent and I was really happy because I was able to match my fastest lap of the session on my last lap. So, that was really positive.

"The temperature got really hot in the afternoon, and some of the problems that we have had have been exaggerated a little bit more. But I am happy with where we are at with a one lap, I am never the strongest, especially this year, I have never been the strongest over a one lap.

"But I think come the race tomorrow we could have a really good race. I just want to thank the team because they are doing a really good job. It is obviously a new project for all of us, and hopefully we can have a good race tomorrow."
