Jake Dixon released from hospital after being ruled out of Qatar Moto2 opening round

Gold & Goose

Jake Dixon has been released from hospital after being given the all-clear by medics following his huge accident during Practice 2 for the Qatar Moto2.

The Englishman was declared unfit for the 2024 Moto2 World Championship opener after crashing while attempting to book a safe passage into Qualifying 2 at the Lusail International Circuit.

While Dixon was confirmed to have suffered no broken bones in the incident - which saw him flicked over the handlebars of his CFMoto Aspar Team bike after losing the rear of his Kalex on the exit of the fast Turn 13 right-hander - a trip to hospital confirmed he had sustained trauma, thus ruling him out of the event.

Kept in hospital overnight, though Dixon himself hasn't commented since the crash, his CFMoto Aspar Team have confirmed he is 'fine' and is now out of hospital.
