Jake Dixon has stepped out in his new colours for the 2024 Moto2 World Championship season as his Aspar Team officially launched its machines for the season, its first in collaboration with CFMoto.
The Chinese manufacturer replaces distant associate GasGas as the Spanish team’s brand partner and primary backer for its campaigns in the Moto2 and Moto3 classes.
CFMoto has enjoyed a presence on the grid for a couple of years already having sponsored the PruestelGP team in Moto3, albeit with only modest success. However, it is stepping up its involvement for 2024 by entering into a partnership with multiple grand prix title winners Aspar Team.
It means the team has ditched its outgoing red and white hues denoting GasGas in favour of what it calls ‘blue, black and fuschia’ for its Kalex Moto2 bikes and KTM Moto3 machines.
Dixon starts the 2024 Moto2 season as one of the title favourites after his breakthrough 2023 campaign with Aspar yielded two wins and a run to fourth in the overall standings. He will be joined again by Izan Guevara, Aspar’s 2022 Moto3 World Champion.
Aspar also starts arguably as a title favourite in Moto3 as well with David Alonso - a four-time race winner in his rookie Moto3 season last year - staying on board as one of the series’ highest placed returnees. He will be partnered by newcomer Joel Esteban.
