"I’m happy with how the test has gone and now I’m just looking forward to getting back to racing..."
The Moto2 and Moto3 riders have been in the South of Spain for a three-day Jerez Test. Of the Moto2 riders was ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider, Jake Dixon.
The British rider and his Boscoscuro chassis ended Day One down in 20th place at Jerez with a lap time of 1:41.766. However, Dixon was within one second of Diogo Moreira's best lap time at the end of the opening day.
The second day of testing saw Dixon climb up the order on the timesheets as he finished the day in seventh. His best lap time was a 1:40.395, which was 1.371 seconds quicker than his best lap time on the first day.
On the third and final day of the Jerez Test, he was eighth on the timesheets, but he produced his best lap time of the test. Dixon set a 1:40.179, which was 0.216 seconds better than his lap time on the previous day.
His best lap time from the test also puts him half-a-second inside Aron Canet's all-time Moto2 lap record at Circuito de Jerez.
"The team and I have certainly been working hard and trying a lot of different settings with the bike to be as best prepared as we can be for Thailand next week.
"We’ve gathered so much information that my brain hurts now, and we just need to sit down together and analyse it all to put the best package together for the first race.
"I’m happy with how the test has gone and now I’m just looking forward to getting back to racing in Thailand.
"It will be cool to start the season in a different place for a change and I can’t wait to get going."
