Jorge Martin aims to 'gather information' in Valencia so he is 'ready for 2026'

Gold & Goose

Jorge Martin will gather information if he is declared fit for the Valencian Grand Prix ahead of the 2026 season.

This weekend, Jorge Martin will return to racing action for the third time in the final round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship.

Throughout the 2025 season, the 2024 MotoGP World Champion has dealt with several major injury issues from pre-season testing until the end of the year.

Martin has only been able to compete in six Grands Prix during his debut season with Aprilia Racing, and his last appearance came in the Sprint Race at the Japanese Grand Prix.

During his last race, Martin was involved in an incident with his Aprilia Racing teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, which saw the Spaniard suffer a displaced fracture to his collarbone.

The 27-year-old will still need to pass a medical check on Thursday before he is cleared to compete in the Valencian Grand Prix.

But if he is declared fit, he is aiming to spend the weekend gathering information, ahead of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

"I can’t wait to be back with the team. I’m really happy with the way the team is working and I’d like to congratulate Aprilia and Marco on the results they’ve achieved," Martin said.

"My goal now is to start preparing in the best possible way for next season; now, it doesn’t make sense to talk about results — the important thing is to put in the laps and gather information.

"I want to grow together with the team so that we’re ready for 2026."
