Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo has broken four bones in his left foot following his massive US MotoGP highside but has not aggravated the ankle inujries he suffered in China.

Lorenzo has been to see the now-famous Dr Mir in Barcelona, who has said that the Spaniard must be in plaster for ten days before he can start to put weight on the damaged foot.

Lorenzo said: ""I'm quite angry and aching, because a new fall has slowed my progression.I've seen Dr. Mir and he has confirmed to me it will heal with rest. Luckily I have time to recover towards Brno. At the moment I will enjoy watching the Tour de France on the television."
