After a disappointing 2024 MotoGP season will Luca Marini bounce back in 2025?
Honda unveiled their new partnership with Castrol at the Honda HRC Castrol team launch in Jakarta. During the event, Joan Mir and Luca Marini were on site and spoke about the upcoming 2025 MotoGP season.
Marini is entering his second year with the factory Honda squad after leaving VR46 at the end of 2023. His first year in factory Honda colours was nothing short of a disaster as he scored 14 points and finished 22nd in the standings.
The Italian did not score a point until the German Grand Prix, which was the ninth round of the 2024 season. However, it was noticeable towards the back end of the year that Honda had made slight progress and was fighting for points more regularly.
Marini has one year left on his Honda contract so the 2025 MotoGP season will be a crucial year for the 27-year-old.
"It is fantastic to come to Jakarta, Indonesia to reveal these new colours," Marini began, "the people here have such a passion for motorbikes, MotoGP and Honda.
"From the 2024 season, we have learned a lot, we were able to end it in a better way and continuing to improve is once again the objective for this 2025 season. I know how hard everyone in this project is working and I am determined to keep giving my maximum on track to help.
"Already last year we saw progress being made and I am sure we will do the same again this year in these beautiful colours."
