'Lusail is one of my favourite tracks' - Enea Bastianini has his sights on another positive result at Qatar

Enea Bastianini is on the hunt for another top-ten finish at the Qatar Grand Prix this weekend.

At the Grand Prix of the Americas, Enea Bastianini was inside the top ten for the second time as a Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider.

The Italian rider has had mixed fortunes in MotoGP since he joined the French team. He finished ninth in Thailand, before a disappointing 17th in Argentina and then bounced back with a seventh in America.

After making a step at the Circuit of the Americas, Bastianini is hoping for another positive result at the Lusail International Circuit.

"We did a good step forward in Austin, I felt good in the race, and we got a great result from 17th on the grid to 7th, and I think that we can do another step this week in Qatar," Bastianini said.

"Lusail is one of my favorite tracks, where we had great moments in the past, so I am really curious to go there and see how we will perform with the KTM."

Red Bull KTM Tech3's Team Manager, Nicolas Goyon, also believes that Bastianini can fight at the front in Qatar.

The Frenchman is hopeful that his latest work off the track will aid him on the track this weekend.

"Enea scored his best KTM result, and has most importantly felt better and more in control on the KTM," Goyon said.

"In addition, he had some important aerodynamics tests last week, which will for sure help him find extra speed.

"All in one, I am confident that they will both arrive in Doha with a lot of motivation, and we can’t wait to get back on track with them."
