Marco Bezzecchi claimed his first MotoGP podium at Assen last year as he finished second overall in the race, this year he will be aiming to be one position higher.
2022 was the rookie season for Marc Bezzecchi as he made the jump up to MotoGP from the Moto2 class. The young Italian stayed with the VR46 squad and partnered Luca Marini. In his first year Bezzecchi was a strong rider already and impressed many. His best result of 2022 came at Assen when he finished second overall, behind eventual Champion, Francesco Bagnaia.
This season the VR46 rider has made a step as a rider and has already won two races at Termas and Le Mans, the 24-year-old is currently third in the MotoGP standings also. At Assen it is expected that Bezzecchi will have a strong ride and will most likely battle for the podium.
"The TT Assen has always been one of my favorite tracks." Bezzecchi said as he looks ahead to the Dutch Grand Prix
"Right here last year, I lived one of the most significant days in my career as a rider and this is one of the reasons why I can't wait to get back on track motivated to do my best."
After standing on the podium three times so far this season Bezzecchi could add to his tally this weekend at Assen.
