Aprilia Racing rider, Marco Bezzecchi, ended his weekend with a sixth place after a terrible start in Saturday's Sprint.
Marco Bezzecchi decided to switch from Ducati to Aprilia for the 2025 MotoGP season. Originally he was supposed to be the number two rider behind Jorge Martin, but now Bezzecchi has been given control in Martin's absence.
The Italian's debut with the Noale factory occurred at this weekend's Thai Grand Prix, where he ended the weekend with 10 points after finishing 12th in Saturday's Sprint and 6th in the Grand Prix.
However, Bezzecchi matched his expectations and did not see himself doing much better than where he finished.
"To be honest, we came out exactly where I saw ourselves before the race," Bezzecchi said after the Thai Grand Prix.
"It corresponds exactly to our level of performance after the tests, and the fact that we got there today without any real problems, I see that as very positive.
"During the test phase we had to set priorities and try out all the new things. That's why we didn't spend much time on the timing. That was also evident here in qualifying. We should improve there, that's a key to getting even further ahead."
In the past, the Aprilia RS-GP has experienced heat issues at the Thai Grand Prix, it has previously caused Maverick Vinales to retire from the race due to the problem.
However, Bezzecchi believes that the issue was any worse or better for Aprilia than other bikes. But he was worried about the heat before the start of the 26-lap race.
"I was worried," Bezzecchi admitted.
"In the past there had been statements from Aprilia riders about the bike being very sensitive to heat. I couldn't confirm that at all. It was brutally hot and difficult for everyone, but I don't think our bike got through it any better or worse than other motorcycles."
