Marquez 'hopes his relationship is good' with Bagnaia next year

Gold and Goose

Marc Marquez wants a good relationship next year with his new teammate, Francesco Bagnaia.

After Francesco Bagnaia stated that his and Marc Marquez's relationship would be 'super good or a disaster' Marquez has responded. The Spaniard will be the new face in the factory Ducati garage next year alongside potentially a three-time MotoGP Champion.

Marquez knows that Pecco is the top rider in Ducati and wants the relationship to be good so he can learn from the Italian.

"I think, and I hope, and I wish that the relationship inside the garage next year will be good," Marquez told MotoGP.com. "In the end, I think the competition inside the garage increases the level of the riders. It has always been like this, and it will be like this. I wish to have a good level because then we can increase and I can learn from him, especially since he is the top Ducati rider. So, let's see what we can do but for now, I still have half a year to go to keep learning. Then next year I will try to be close to Pecco as he is the number one inside Ducati."

Marquez has shared garages with plenty of Champions throughout his career and will use his experience to help next season with Pecco.

"I was very lucky because I shared the garage many times with Champions, like Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Joan Mir," Marquez said. "In the end, you can learn from him and he can learn from you. I think next year I need to learn more from Pecco because he is the fastest guy out there. If he can learn something from me then it will be a good sign because it will mean I am fast. But at the moment we are not in that situation and I need to keep going this year and next year we will see."
