Jose Antonio Rueda is a Grand Prix race winner for the first time in his career, with David Alonso off the podium.
Throughout the whole weekend only one rider had led a Moto3 session, that rider was the Championship leader David Alonso. The Colombian started the Aragon Grand Prix from pole after leading every Practice session in the build-up to the race.
After gambling and choosing a development hard option tyre it was Jose Antonio Rueda who claimed victory in Aragon. The Spanish rider won his first-ever Grand Prix in the Moto3 class and became the 400th different Grand Prix winner in history.
In second place was the Championship challenge, Collin Veijer. The Dutch rider led the race towards the end, but he did not have the pace to match Rueda.
In third place was Luca Lunetta who stood on the podium for the first time in his Grand Prix career. The Italian has gained a reputation as a wild rider, but the #58 put together a perfect race at Aragon.
The Championship leader, Alonso, ended up finishing off the podium. Despite running away with the race in the first half Alonso dropped back as he ran into tyre issues, the best he could do was fourth.
Australian rider, Joel Kelso, was gaining on the podium places towards the end, but he also seemingly ran out of tyres. Kelso did manage to finish in fifth and claimed a good haul of points.
Just outside of the top five was Taiyo Furusato who finished in sixth. The Japanese rider was the first person to challenge Alonso at the front. However, mistakes began to creep in and he dropped back through the pack.
David Munoz had a disastrous start to the race as he made mistakes and dropped back down the order. However, the Spaniard got up to his usual antics and made his way up to seventh.
Rounding out the top ten was Xabi Zurutuza in eighth, Daniel Holgado in ninth and Matteo Bertelle in tenth.
