MotoGP Aragon: Dixon fourth despite stability issues

Shimoku GasGas Aspar’s Jake Dixon sits fourth in the Moto2 times after a day of practice at Motorland Aragon on Friday.

Just a tenth of a second kept the Brit from the top three as Friday afternoon’s FP2 concluded with Dixon setting a 1’53.128 best, a quarter of a second shy of Aron Canet’s day one target.

Initial set-up issues prevented the 26-year-old from hitting the ground running in the second session after a strong morning showing, but after reverting to his original settings, Dixon was back in the groove and firmly in the mix at the Alcañiz circuit.

“Free practice didn't go too bad, I'm very happy with how it went during the first session of the day,” Dixon said from Aragon. “We made some changes to the bike that didn't go as expected and we had to make some modifications at the start of the second practice.

“For tomorrow we need to make an improvement to get more stability on the bike. We'll keep making progress and we'll see what we can do tomorrow.”
