MotoGP race direction are currently investigating the small collision between Repsol Honda team-mates Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa at Sragon which saw the latter's traction control disabled as a result and Pedrosa pinged over the highside mid-race.
Fortunately, the Spaniard wasn't seriously injured but a no-points score has effectively ended his chances of taking the 2013 MotoGP title. Marquez has admitted there was contact but only a little. The most sensible theory is that Marquez' clutch lever touched the sensor cable as he went around the outside of Pedrosa before running off track - whether Pedrosa made an error which forced him to slow down more than usual is still being discussed.
"Dani overtake me but after two or three laps I saw that I was a little bit better. Before the back straight at the braking point, I nearly touch but didn't, then I pick up the bike and touch him a little bit but nothing, I just go wide but then they did say to me I touch his cable for traction control, which is a strange thing as it never happen. I cannot say much as it is not very usual," he said, speaking at the post-race press conference.
