MotoGP Aragon: ‘No way to fight the Hondas’ - Rossi

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has already given up on winning tomorrow Motorland Aragon MotoGP race because he thinks the factory Hondas are way too fast and he has resigned himself to scrapping with team-mate Jorge Lorenzo for the last podium spot.

Rossi rescued a second-row start from a potentially disastrous finally free practice session and he had to go through the qualfying one procedure after getting a duff tyre from Bridgestone, he says.

“When I put the tyre in this morning for improve the laptime, the tyre was wrong, doesn’t work I go very close to crash also and I couldn’t improve so I have to do the Q1. I haven’t any good tyre for free practice four but we change the setting, I continue to struggle but we find something good for the strategy,” said The Doctor.

“I am happy about the second row as I have only one tyre for the Q2 so is not bad at the end. We still have to improve but now the modify for the warm up is very important. In the race there is no way to fight with the factory Honda. Marc and also Pedrosa are too fast with their pace.

“But after, there is another place on the podium and a lot of riders that can achieve that result. It will be important to make some more improvement.”
