MotoGP Argentina: Dixon ready to ‘fight for the podium’

Solunion GasGas Aspar’s Jake Dixon knows Moto2’s visit to Argentina this weekend will prove more challenging than the season opener.

After almost a week’s riding at Portugal’s Algarve International Circuit - which saw the Brit bounce back from 14th in lap one to sixth at the flag - Termas de Rio Hondo provides a new challenge for the 27-year-old.

After a year away, Friday’s first morning practice will see the intermediate class need to hit the ground running in preparation for Sunday’s 21-lap race, with Dixon aiming for podium success after a strong performance last time out.

"I like the Argentina circuit,” Dixon confirmed of the second destination in as many weeks. “I'm sure it will be a completely different weekend to Portugal, where we had been riding already for six days and everyone was going fast at the end.

"I hope we can get a good grid position because it will give us more chances to fight for the podium.”
