Friday’s free practice action for the Argentina Grand Prix at the Termas de Rio Hondo has been postponed due to a logistical nightmare.
All freight for MotoGP’s three classes had been shipped from Indonesia to South America via five cargo flights over the past fortnight, with one suffering technical issues and delayed en route.
The final shipment is expected into Argentina on Friday morning, with all opening day action postponed as a result.
The new truncated schedule sees only one free practice session cancelled, with Saturday proving busy for the entire championship. Sunday’s running will sit relatively unchanged with just warm up’s extended and returning to 20 minutes for the junior classes.
The combined free practice classification for entry into Q2 will be taken from FP1 and FP2 for each class, including MotoGP.
