Motivated by last weekend’s podium momentum, Britain’s Sam Lowes is on the hunt for more as Moto2 arrives at Assen.
His first pole of the season converted to his second podium at the Sachsenring after a painful run of form for the Elf Marc VDS man. Boosted by such a competitive and consistent weekend, on his 150th career start, Lowes is now out for more at the iconic Dutch track he favours strongly. With the added incentive of home support always on show around the 4.5km venue.
“Assen is a track I love, and I can’t wait for this weekend coming off the back of such a strong performance in Germany where I was on pole and took the podium,” Lowes confirmed from the Netherlands.
“Assen is one of those races that is always special, and it will be fantastic to see fans back at full capacity this weekend because they create a great atmosphere and give us great support.
“I feel like those points we got on the board and being so competitive in Germany has really put some momentum back into my season and given me a big boost going to Assen. It’s a very different challenge to the Sachsenring but my target is going to be fighting for the podium and win again. It will be important to take a positive result into the summer break.”
