Andrea Dovizioso’s manager Simone Battistella has confirmed to Italian media that his rider will leave Ducati at the end of this season.
There have been protracted negotiations between the two parties for months with Ducati trying to push down Dovizioso’s salary.
Batistella told Italian media this morning that Dovizioso would not extend his contract past 2020.
“We have communicated to Ducati that Andrea has no intention of continuing for the next few years, that he now wants to concentrate on the next races, but that there are no conditions to continue together,” said Batistella.
Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti said: “We met Simone this morning here at the Red Bull Ring and realised that unfortunately there are not the conditions to continue our relationship with Dovi beyond the end of the current contract.”
