Confirmation from the Sepang Racing Team arrived on Saturday morning with the team confirming Petronas is officially departing the MotoGP championship at the end of the 2021 season.
The Malaysian outfit mutually agreeing to end its title partnership of the Petronas SRT outfit across the Sprinta Racing Moto2 and Moto3 teams and the Yamaha MotoGP outfit.
There was no verification regarding the future of the Moto2 and Moto3 teams, however, with the statement explaining ‘the team is expected to make an announcement regarding its continuation in MotoGP from 2022 onwards under a new independent entity’.
