Despite the efforts of Honda, MotoGP bosses have pushed through new rules for 2014 and a spec-ECU and datalogging system will be introduced.
However, it is a two-tier system where members of the MSMA will be allowed to use their own software but the trade-off will be a lower fuel limit of 20 litres. Those that choose to use the supplied software are rewarded with a 24-litre fuel limit. MSMA members will also have one less engine to play with in 2014
There has also been a freeze on engine development and the bore x stroke has also been set from 2013 to 2015. All this will have to checked and ticked by Sigisimund, the mad maths master, but don't expect anything to change unless Honda and Yamaha decide not to build their respective production bikes and engines.
