MotoGP Brno: Pedrosa continues to dominate as Rossi improves

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa continues to lead the MotoGP field at Brno this afternoon, setting the fastest time in the second free practice session and staying ahead of team-mate Casey Stoner by half a second with reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo in third.

Pedrosa couldn't match his time from this morning's session but Stoner did and closed the gap to a little under four-tenths of a second from the sone second it was earlier, while Marco Simoncelli made it a Honda one-two-three with his 1'57.136, seven-tenths off the lead. Pedrosa put in seven laps in the 1'56s bracket while no-one else did more than one...

Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo was sitting in third until Simoncelli's final circulation knocked him into fourth but he found four-tenths in the second session while Andrea Doviziso made it four Hondas in the top five with his last lap, demoting Ben Spies to sixth.

Valentino Rossi put the Marlboro Ducati GP11.1 in seventh after finding nearly a second over lunch while Alvaro Bautista turned the tables on John Hopkins to be the leading Suzuki before Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow split the two by taking ninth place.

Crutchlow's team-mate Colin Edwards is in 12th behind Hector Barbera on the Mapfre Ducati while Randy De Puniet set 13th fastest before walking away from a crash. Nicky Hayden is 14th ahead of Loris Capirossi.
