Britain’s Bradley Smith has admitted to becoming worried over Monster Yamaha’s apparent lack of interest in obtaining his signature for the 2016 MotoGP season and even though he has said he really wants to remain with Herve Poncharal’s squad, he has yet to see a contract.
Smith’s team-mate Pol Espargaro signed his new, one-year deal with the factory at Indianapolis and while grumblings from the team say there are only details to iron out, Smith insists he can’t be doing any ironing when he has yet to eyeball a piece of paper with his name on it.
“I haven’t seen a contract. If I can stay here for another year I want to, we have done too much work to not to. if not, then we have to look at other options. It’s a possibility and the delay is making me a little more worried than I usually would be, so we have to look at the other options if they come about,” said Smith, speaking at Brno.
