MotoGP Brno: True pole is 'sweet feeling' for Crutchlow

Britain's Cal Crutchlow took what he deems as his first true MotoGP pole position at Brno today and said it was a 'sweet feeling' to be on top spot with Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez all on equal terms.

The Monster Yamaha man did set pole at Assen but said then he felt he wanted to do it with all the top riders in the mix and fit, which is exactly what he got today.

A slight setup tweak gave him the edge over the competition but Crutchlow is still not convinced about the new fuel tank and seat unit which has been a puzzle to work out over the first three free practice session of the weekend.

"I'm pleased. It's a long way from the first session this weekend because we have been struggling. I think overall pace is not too bad, we just weren't there in the top three or four consistently and changing the bike a lot," said Crutchlow, speaking at Brno.

"To take this pole is a sweet feeling. We have been improving in each session and then we finally found something that I thought was worth trying even if it was in the qualifying session and it worked a little bit better.

"I didn't feel the Assen pole was a true pole. I'm not saying I don't like being beaten but I don't like winning something when nobody is there so it was good it was a true pole, everybody is here and everybody is half-fit as motorcycle racers are never completely fit."
