MotoGP Catalunya: Bezzecchi leads the way in Moto3

Current Moto3 World Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi fought back against Jorge Martin to end free practice two fastest overall at the Barcelona MotoGP round.

The Italian’s fastest lap was a 1.49.005, which was two tenths quicker than Martin’s fastest time from FP1. After only finishing tenth fastest overall in this mornings first free practice, Bezzecchi knocked over a second off his lap time to lead the way after the first day in Barcelona.

Bezzecchi’s Redox Pruestel GP team-mate Jakub Kornfiel was second fastest and just 0.055 seconds behind his team-mate with Philip Oettl third fastest making it KTM’s in all three top spots.

Nico Antonelli was fourth fastest with a 1.49.112 and just ahead of the first Spaniard in the shape of Martin. After topping the morning session Martin could only manage fifth place in the afternoon, only shading two hundredths of a second off his lap time from the morning.

Jaume Masia was sixth fastest on his KTM and just ahead of the Ajo Red Bull KTM of Darryn Binder with John McPhee, Nicolo Bulega and Aron Canet rounding out the top ten.

Gabriel Rodrigo was eleventh fastest and just over half a second off of Bezzecchi’s lap time while Raul Fernandez, Kaito Toba, Enea Bastianini and Adam Norrodin made up the fastest fifteen.
