Petronas Moto2 star Jake Dixon is confident of more points at this weekend's Catalan MotoGP round after finding setup improvements at Mugello.
Having enjoyed some progress made last time out in Italy, Dixon will be hoping to make further improvements at the Barcelona track this weekend, which has seen a reprofiling of turn ten.
It is a circuit that he knows well and one he enjoys riding. Although a broken throttle cable curtailed his 2020 race, the Brit was running in a strong fifth place and enjoyed one of his best qualifying results last year.
After scoring some points at Mugello, Dixon is eager to get back out on track and rack up even more to increase his current total in the championship standings, where he is currently 18th.
"I went well there last year and actually had one of my best qualifying results in Barcelona. Unfortunately, I had a throttle cable snap in the race when I was running fifth at the time, but it’s a track that I really get on well with," said Dixon.
"We’ve had a difficult last few GPs but we found something in the race at Mugello that is moving us in the right direction and hopefully we can continue this progress into the Barcelona round to get back to where we know we can be. We’ve taken one step forward, so we just need to make another one this weekend. I’m really looking forward to it."
