Elf Marc VDS Racing’s Sam Lowes is looking to banish the demons of his recent Moto2 bad luck with a return to Barcelona.
Having recently completed a successful test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Lowes is hoping a return to the 4.6km track will proved fruitful for round nine of the 2022 Moto2 World Championship.
A front row start and podium challenge in Mugello went unrewarded for the Brit after a tangle with teammate Tony Arbolino, which makes him doubly determined to bounce back with a strong showing this weekend.
The 31-year-old is a big fan of the fast and flowing Catalunya layout with his best result, a second place finish in 2020, coming from a front row start, something he hopes to replicate this time around.
“I’m really looking forward to going to Barcelona because we had a good test there a few weeks ago and it is a track I really love,” Lowes said from Spain.
“We are currently in a run of races where we have not got the results we want or deserve, so I can’t wait to get to Catalunya and work hard over the weekend and get some points back on the board.”
