MotoGP Catalunya: Lowes out of luck in Barcelona

Elf Marc VDS rider Sam Lowes suffered his sixth DNF in a row at Barcelona as his disastrous run of luck continued in Moto2

A tough start from sixth on the grid, saw Lowes running adrift of the top ten on the opening lap before a recovery mission began. Finding his rhythm, he was back on the same pace as the leaders and progressing through the pack, moving past Ai Ogura for seventh with seven laps to go.

Unfortunately, three laps before the flag the Brit lost the front through turn 12, crashing out for his sixth non-score in a row.

“The team did a good job this weekend,” Lowes confirmed from Barcelona. “I’m sorry for the mistake as we needed to finish but I lost the front with three laps to go. It’s a shame and after the unlucky races when other people have taken me down, this sure doesn’t help today.

"We can be positive about the pace we have. I will keep working to find a good way out of this bad run of races.”
