MotoGP Catalunya: Nakagami out of test, nothing broken

Idemitsu LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami has been taken to hospital following his first corner crash in the Catalan GP.

An aggressive start from the fourth row saw Nakagami unable to hold his line at turn one, losing his front end and collecting both Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins and Ducati Lenovo’s Pecco Bagnaia in the aftermath - the latter after his helmet made contact with the rear wheel of the GP22.

Following initial medical checks at the circuit, the LCR man was taken to the Hospital General de Catalunya for further examination as a precaution.

A full body scan revealed no broken bones, but Nakagami will remain in hospital overnight. While expected to be discharged tomorrow, the 30-year-old has been ruled out of Monday’s official test session as the MotoGP paddock return to the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit.
