Despite putting in 58 testing laps of Catalunya yesterday, Valentino Rossi was unable to find a solution to the Yamaha M1's acceleration problem and the nine-time world champion will have to wait until after Brno for any upgrades.
Rossi was downbeat after the test, finishing 1.2s behind fastest man Marc Marquez but was happier with the new front tyre Michelin brought for evaluation ahead of the 2019 season.
"Unfortunately, we are not able to improve performance and our acceleration. I was like yesterday. Looking at the data and everything, we were not able to go faster. It's a shame. But it's like this. It's not easy. It's long work. So it's normal," said Rossi, speaking at the track.
"We hope in the next test, in Brno on the Monday after the race, to find something else. And until Brno, we will race with the same bike as now."
