MotoGP has confirmed its new era schedule for race weekends across 2023 as Sprint races make their presence felt on Saturday afternoons.
Friday will continue to be dominated by practice with the morning action 45 minutes in duration while the afternoon brings an extended hour-long session. The combined times of the two sessions determining entry to Q1 and Q2.
Moto2 has two 40-minute sessions on Friday, and Moto3 two 35-minute sessions. Both count towards the combined timings, but for the lower classes Saturday morning’s P3 is also taken into account.
Saturday’s demanding schedule kicks off with the final practice for the lightweight and intermediate classes before a 30 minute free practice leads into qualifying for MotoGP. Moto3 and Moto2 qualifying follows the lunch break with the all-new MotoGP Sprint concluding the second day from 15:00.
Sunday sees just the premier class on track for warm up ahed of the main events with races scheduled at the usual 11:00, 12:15 and 14:00 start times.
