MotoGP has confirmed its full official testing programme for 2026, including the tyre tests for Pirelli.
The Italian tyre manufacturer, which also supplies F1 and has been the sole tyre supplier for WorldSBK since 2004, will replace Michelin as the official tyre supplier to MotoGP in 2027.
The first chance for the riders and teams to get a taste of the Pirelli rubber with MotoGP machinery came in a private test at Misano last year, but more testing will take place in 2026.
MotoGP has announced two tyre tests for 2026, both coming in the summer and taking place at European circuits.
Brno in Czechia will host the first test on 22 June, the Monday after the Czech Grand Prix. On 21 September, the Red Bull Ring will host the second and final in-season tyre test for 2026, again on the Monday after the race there on 20 September.
The 2027 preseason itself will begin, as usual, on the Tuesday after the Valencia Grand Prix on 24 November.
2026’s tyre tests will bring the total number of in-season tests to four for this year. Jerez will host the first in-season official test the day after the Spanish Grand Prix on 27 April, and there will also be a post-race test in Barcelona on 18 May – these will be the final official tests for the 1,000cc bikes.
Of course, the in-season tests will follow on from the preseason testing schedule, which begins later this week on 29–31 January with the Sepang Shakedown. That will then be followed by official tests in Sepang (3–5 February) and Buriram (21–22 February) ahead of the first round of 2026 in Thailand on 27 February – 1 March.
