Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith has snatched pole position for the 125cc MotoGP race at Donington Park this afternoon, topping the timesheets with his very last lap from Marc Marquez.
Smith spent much of the dry session in the top three, swapping times with Marquez, Pol Espargaro and Joan Olive but it was the Oxfordshire youngster who lapped quickest in the end, setting a 1'37.442.
Championship leader and Smith's team-mate Julian Simon could only muster third on the grid after he crashed out in first five minutes with the third Aspar bike of Sergio Gadea rounding out the front row.
It wasn't such a good session for Scott Redding and Danny Webb, who finished 11th and 14th respectively.
