MotoGP Germany: Dixon fifth ‘without focusing on times’

GasGas Aspar’s Jake Dixon enjoyed a positive start to the Moto2 German Grand Prix after fighting at the front on Friday.

Frequent appearances at the top of the times across both of the opening day’s two free practice sessions at the short but tricky Sachsenring circuit culminated with a fifth place as the afternoon action came to a close. 1’24.600, Dixon’s best time, just half a second from Augusto Fernandez on the leading KTM with fellow Brit Sam Lowes 0.043s ahead in fourth.

"It was a good first day,” Dixon confirmed from Sachsenring. “We have a good pace and I enjoyed a lot riding without focusing on the times.
