Reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has ruled himself out of next weekend's Laguna Seca MotoGP round, saying he doesn't want to take any more risks and want to heal properly.

In a short Twitter messaage, he said: "To the people asking me about Laguna, I would like to say that I don't want to take more risk and have a good recovery. See you in Indy."

Yamaha have not yet made any announcement.
