Sam Lowes heads to Germany fresh from a positive test with his Elf Marc VDS team and ready to roll for his 150th Grand Prix.
The halfway point of the 2022 World Championship campaign, Lowes is determined to deliver top results in Sunday’s 28-lap Moto2 race at the tight and twisty Sachsenring Circuit.
Boosted by last week’s Motorland Aragon test, the 31-year-old is planning to be a main contender in Germany this weekend as he goes in search of a season’s second podium finish in what is scheduled to be his milestone race.
The British rider has made seven previous appearances at the anti-clockwise Sachsenring track, completing three in the top five, but is out for more this weekend
“Sachsenring is a race I always look forward to attending and it’s a good place to get my season back on track,” Lowes said ahead of the weekend. “The last few races clearly haven’t gone to plan for me, but my pace has been good and I’m coming off the back of a very good test in Aragon.
“There are a lot of positive points and we’re hoping now to be able to join all the dots up and come out of a weekend with a strong result. I need to see the chequered flag and get the ball rolling again with a decent points finish.
“It’s a special weekend as well because it marks my 150th Grand Prix. It’s special to reach that number and I’m proud to have been part of the World Championship for such a long period. I’ve had some great moments and I’m sure there are plenty more to come.”
