MotoGP Germany: Positive Rossi working on late race pace

Factory Yamaha's Valentino Rossi is in an upbeat mood following today's two MotoGP free practice sessions at the Sachsenring and is concentrating on improving his grip towards the end of race distance.

The nine-time world champion finished in fifth place on the second period timesheet but is only three-tenths of a second slower than Stefan Bradl but has some concerns over which tyre to choose on Sunday.

"Today for is quite positive first of all because anyway I can use my setting, so I confirm the good feeling I had in Assen because I am quite fast. This afternoon I am in the fifth position but we are all very close to together and I have also the second ideal time so quite fast in some sector but especially we are 0.3 from the pole position so I am quite happy," said The Doctor, speaking at the Sachsenring.

"This afternoon was more difficult for me as the condition of the track was more tricky, especially if we want to use the hard tyre rear and also front the bike become more difficult to ride and at the same time with more temperature, the soft rear move too much, especially on the left, so if we want to do a very good race we have to concentrate on that point of view, improve my pace after 15 laps because I think that will be a very important issue for the race. My pace is not so bad, we still have to work and improve but I am quite happy for the first day."
