Proposals to increase the number of bikes on the 2011 MotoGP grid by private teams being able to lease motors from manufacturers have been presented to the Grand Prix Commission.
The likes of Honda, Yamaha and Ducati could provide engine packages to smaller teams in order to get more than the current number of riders on the grid, and would effectively kill off the 1000cc Moto1 idea, which did not sit well with WSB boss Paolo Flammini.
It would appear there would be no technical rule changes as the engines would be the same as they are now, but the Motorcycle Sport Manufacturers' Association still has to agree a standard price and time frame. More details are expected to be announced at the Estoril round.
