LCR Honda boss Lucio Cecchinello has confirmed he is talks with Nicky Hayden to field a second bike for the American and keep him in MotoGP for 2014.
The Italian, who has just signed Stefan Bradl for another year, has been in discussions with HRC chief Livio Suppo and, sponsorship allowing, could run Hayden on one of the production racers next season.
“That is still a dream for me. lLet’s say there is maybe some small possibility. We are still talking with HRC and HRC is talking with Honda here in America. We will try to see if there is some way to find the budget to organise a second bike here in this team," he said.
Hayden added: “Yes, there has been some discussion. I’m not going to deny that.”
