Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo could be in place to announce his plans for the 2010 MotoGP as soon as the Indianapolis race this weekend as he aims to finish contract negotiations this week.
The Spaniard has been linked with big money rides at other teams, including Honda and Ducati, but Honda's announcement at the last round they had come to an agreement with Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso effectively put Lorenzo with either Yamaha or with Marlboro Ducati.
It is believed that Lorenzo has been offered as much as $13m to go to Ducati, which could see a straight swap with Casey Stoner, but his manager has said that wages are at foot of the priority list.
