MotoGP Indy: No new contract yet for Smith

Britain’s Bradley Smith hasn’t yet received a new contract offer for 2016 from his current Tech3 or Yamaha despite sitting joint fifth in the MotoGP title chase and winning the Suzuka Eight-Hours for the factory a couple of weeks ago.

Smith has comprehensively outperformed Pol Espargaro this year, is the leading satellite rider by some 21 points from fellow Brit Ca Crutchlow but he says all is quiet on the job front, at least from the direction of his current employers.

“I would have like to have some positive news but everything has been very quiet over the summer break. I have made it very clear to my team and also Yamaha that I want to continue but there isn’t the same enthusiasm coming the other way so we will have to wait and see,” said Smith, speaking at Indianapolis.
