MOTOGP INDY: REDDING ON PROVISIONAL FRONT ROW

Britain's Scott Redding has put his Blusens Aprilia on the provisional front row of the grid for Sunday's MotoGP 250cc race at Indianapolis.

The youngster, who took victory at the British Grand Prix earlier in the year, was fastest for half of the 30 minute session battled it out with Lorenzo Zannetti and Mike Di Meglio for pole.

Redding was the first man under the two-minute barrier, putting in a 1'59.977 with ten minutes left on the clock. That time was beaten by Mark Marquez four minutes later before Redding stepped up and put in a 1'59.415.

Finally, Zannetti put in the quickest time of 1'58.491 with Redding four tenths behind him and Iannone a further two tenths back.

Polaris World's Bradley Smith ended the session in eighth with a 2'.723 lap and Danny Webb, the final British rider, was 19th with a 2'03.087.
