Petronas Sprinta’s Jake Dixon doesn’t have the best relationship with Jerez but goes into this weekend’s Moto2 clash with a new attitude.
Last year’s two Grands Prix at the Jerez circuit, which saw high track temperatures, proved to be difficult for team-mate Dixon, but the Brit is hoping that the boost of going somewhere he knows will make up for his lack of previous Spanish success.
After his Portuguese GP came to an early end, Dixon will also be aiming to make a strong comeback this weekend, earn some valuable points and move him higher than his current 15th position in the world championship standings.
“I can’t wait to be back out this weekend in Jerez, although it’s a circuit that hasn’t been kind to me in the past. I’m going there with a new attitude though, I do really like the track and I can’t wait to get going,” said Dixon.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which circuit it is because I just really enjoy riding my bike. It’s a track I know this weekend, unlike last time out in Portugal, so I hope I can get into a good flow there. I don’t have any specific targets, just to get into a good rhythm and see what results come my way.”
