Britain’s Jake Dixon will not take part in this afternoon’s Spanish GP after the Petronas rider suffered concussion after a turn seven crash in Moto2 warm up.
A number of riders fell foul of the incredibly cold conditions due to the earlier than normal start - thanks to the MotoE race’s addition to the Jerez weekend schedule. Ironically a red flag delay, halfway through the Moto2 session due to Celestino Vietti’s collision with the air-fence, also at turn seven, saw the electric race moved to the afternoon - which could have prevented the rash of morning incidents.
Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro both followed their almost-identical high speed Saturday crashes with falls in the final warm up, this time at turns four and 11 respectively, with Iker Lecuona and Lorenzo Baldassarri also down in their individual sessions.
