Ecstar Suzuki’s Alex Rins has been transferred to hospital after sustaining a shoulder fracture and dislocation during a Jerez MotoGP qualifying two crash.
The Spaniard had already fallen in qualifying one but was unhurt. However, he went down hard during qualifying two and walked to the barrier holding his right arm.
“After the crash, Alex had a lot of pain in his right shoulder,” said a team statement.
“He was taken to the Clinica Mobile for an X-ray, where doctors detected a fracture and dislocation, administering a mild sedative to ease the pain. Alex will be transferred to hospital for further tests.”
It is not yet known whether Rins’ second crash was the result of any fluid on the track from Jack Miller’s Ducati that had gone down seconds before.
